Caustic soda, or sodium hydroxide NAOH, at 99%, listed as white flake or pearl. It is used for water-chemistry adjustment and carries CAS number 1310-73-2.

This strong base is used to raise the pH of water, neutralize acids and make soaps and detergents, and it is bought by water-treatment plants, industry and chemical distributors. Corrosive, it must be handled with gloves, goggles and protective clothing, and its bag is kept closed and dry.
