Double-boiled linseed oil, used as a component of paints and coatings for its drying behaviour. The drying and binding role expected in the recipe determines the choice of oil.

Linseed oil is a drying oil: it hardens in air by forming a film, which explains its use in oil-based paints, varnishes and putties. Paint producers, coating formulators and decorating contractors are among the buyers of this type of oil.
