Liquid OCP viscosity index improvers

Liquid OCP viscosity index improvers, in variants with different thickening power. They are based on olefin copolymers and used to formulate multigrade lubricants, with blending characteristics specific to each variant.

A multigrade lubricant must stay fluid when cold and sufficiently viscous when hot, and a viscosity index improver helps maintain that balance. Formulators of engine oils and multigrade fluids choose the variant from the target viscosity, the base oil and the shear behaviour required.
