At 165 × 128 × 80 mm, the lockable cash box holds the cash float of a small shop. Being portable, it can go back to the back room at the end of the day. Its longest side, 165 mm, should be compared with the width of the drawer or shelf.

Hotel receptions, neighbourhood boutiques, travel agencies and equipment hire firms keep the morning cash float, the change handed back and small receipts in it. Counting the float at opening and again at closing is good practice, helped by a box that is shut after each use.
