Poly(2-hydroxypropyl dimethyl ammonium chloride), a liquid cationic polymer, CAS 25988-97-0. Its purity by weight is 59.0 to 62.0%, its pH 6.5 to 8.5 in a 10% water solution and its density 1.17 to 1.19 g/cm3 at 20 °C.

In water treatment, quaternary ammonium polymers of this family act as coagulants, neutralising the negative charge of suspended particles. Operators and formulators select the grade by purity by weight and pH, and these values serve as reference points when checking a delivery.
