Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, the base material of rigid or flexible plastic compounds. Several viscosity grades are linked to these applications. The choice of material, additives and processing settings depends on the planned extrusion or moulding process.

Plastics converters and compound formulators use it to produce pipes, profiles, films, cable sheathing or coverings, depending on the additives blended in. Rigid compounds contain little or no plasticiser, flexible ones considerably more.
