Pour point depressants for lubricants, used to keep an oil fluid at low temperature. The variants are selected for compatibility with the base oil.

At low temperature, the paraffins in a mineral oil crystallise and hinder flow, and a pour point depressant modifies these crystals so that the oil keeps flowing. This matters for lubricants meant for cold regions or cold-weather starting. Performance and dosage depend on the specific oil blend.
