Silica matting agents for coatings, used to lower gloss and adjust the surface look. Several variants let formulators set the matt level within a compatible binder system.

These additives go into paint, varnish and ink formulations, where they give a satin or matt appearance to the dry film. Formulators choose the variant according to particle size, ease of dispersion in the binder and the amount needed to reach the intended finish.
