Stannous octoate catalyst, the catalytic component of balanced polyurethane foam formulations. Its dosage and reactivity are defined together with the polyol, the isocyanate and the other catalysts.

Polyurethane foam producers build it into a balanced recipe next to the other catalysts. Its role is judged against those other catalysts of the recipe, which is why the full formulation should be described. The polyol and the isocyanate chosen belong to the same balance, and any change to one calls for a review of the other components.
