Welding mask with a 110 x 90 mm cartridge and a 93 x 43 mm viewing area, with a DIN 9-13 dark state. It stays at DIN 4 when clear, darkens in 1/10000 s through 2 arc sensors, then clears again in 0.1-0.8 s.

A mask of this auto-darkening type serves welders in workshops, boiler shops and on site, who no longer need to lift the helmet between welds. The shade is set from outside the mask to suit the job in hand, and the filter runs on solar cells combined with a lithium battery.
