Stabiliser for water-in-alkyd coatings, an additive keeping water dispersed in solvent-borne alkyd systems. Its role is to hold the water droplets evenly spread in the mix of alkyd resin and solvent.

Paint and coating formulators working with alkyd resin turn to it when water has to be introduced into a solvent-based formulation. Dosage and mixing conditions depend on the intended paint and are checked through formulation trials before any production run.
